Russell Swauger

Russell L. Swauger, age 74, of Railroad St., Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, March 29, 2024 in his residence. He was born in Andover, OH on May 14, 1949 to Elmer E. and Edna “Ted” (Fry) Swauger.

Russell attended Jamestown Schools and had previously been employed at Carini’s and Hungry Buster in Jamestown. He also volunteered his time to help many people in the Jamestown Community with small jobs. His hobbies included, riding his bicycle, fishing, watching races at the local race car tracks, attending the annual Night To Shine Event in Greenville and spending time with his family.

Russell is survived by his brother Terry Swauger and his wife Linda of Johnson, OH; a niece, Stephanie Swauger, a great niece, Izabella Bates and his longtime aid and friend, Deb O’Dem. He was preceded in death by his parents. Russell’s family would like to express their true appreciation and gratitude to the Jamestown Community for their many years of being so kind and helpful to Russell.

Cremation was chosen and private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Night To Shine, c/o Bethel Life Worship Center, 246 Mercer St., Greenville, PA 16125.
