Ruth A. Knapik, age 80, of Clinton St., Greenville, passed away Tuesday evening, September 19, 2023 in UPMC Hamot. She was born in Ford City, PA on October 26, to Chalmer and Alice (Rupert) Waltenbaugh.
Ruth retired as a bookkeeper from First National Bank Greenville office and had previously been employed by Gilbert’s Insurance Co. in Sharon and The Keller Agency and McClimans-Barret Insurance Co., both of Greenville. She was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville. Ruth was an avid bowler and participated in local leagues for over fifty years. She also enjoyed antiquing and attending craft shows, taking care of her home and garden, watching Ohio State Football and Duke Basketball games and attending and supporting her grandson Noah’s baseball games.
On August 29, 1964 she married John T. “Jack” Knapik, he passed away on December 16, 2020. Ruth is survived by her daughter; Sharon L. Richards of Salem, OH and her grandson; Noah M. Richards. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant brother and a sister; Betty Hellgren.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, with Rev. Brandon Kleckner, Pastor of the church as celebrant. Inurnment will be in St. Michael Cemetery Columbarium. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael School Endowment Fund, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
