Sandra L. "Sandy" Marini

Sandra L. “Sandy” Marini, age 84, of Hamburg Rd., Hempfield Twp., Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, December 5, 2024, in UPMC Montefiore.

She was born on June 15, 1940 in Geneva, PA to Robert G. and Elizabeth Shreffler. Sandy attended Penn High School and had retired as a Licensed Nurse’s Aide, providing homecare in the Greenville Area. She previously had been employed for 10 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Greenville Regional Hospital.

She was a member of Christian Assembly Church, Greenville. Sandy had been a member of and volunteered her time with the Hempfield V. F. D. Auxiliary. She enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, canning, cooking, and most of all, taking care of her family.

On October 7, 1956, Sandy married Paul Marini; he passed away on September 10, 2016.

She is survived by two sons: Paul A. (Marnie) Marini and Vince A. (Michele Sember) Marini, both of Greenville; seven brothers: Gary Rhoades, Jack Rhoades, Duane Shreffler, Daniel Shreffler, Edward Shreffler, Ronald Shreffler, and Richard Shreffler; five grandchildren: Angie McKelvey, Nick Marini, Tyler Marini, Kyle Marini, and Brooke Marini; two step-grandchildren: Eric Weaver and Nick Weaver; three great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, Sandy is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gino Marini; a twin sister, Sonja Wenzel; and many sisters.

Services:

A Funeral Service will be held at 5 PM Tuesday, 12/10/24, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville, with Pastor Kent Bell of Bethel Life Worship Center officiating. Family and Friends will be received on Tuesday, 12/10/24, from 4 PM until time of service. Burial will be in Stevenson Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hempfield V. F. D., 20 Sixth Ave. Greenville, PA 16125.
