Selva Jean Riffe, age 81, of Carlisle Rd., Transfer, passed away Monday evening, February 22, 2021 in the Grove at Greenville.

She was born in Greenville on June 23, 1939 a daughter of Eldon L. and Virginia L. (Daisley) Hovis. She was a 1957 graduate of Penn High School and on August 30, 1958 she married Clifford A. Riffe, he survives. She was a member of Hillside Presbyterian Church, where she was baptized at the age of 12.

Selva was a member of the Moose Senior Group, a charter member of Women of the Moose, chapter 1890, which she organized as a new chapter which was established and instituted in January of 1989.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Clifford L. “Kip” Riffe and his wife Cyndi of Greenville and Randy L. Riffe and his wife Angelique of Greenville; a daughter Vickie L. Somers and her companion Jim of New Wilmington; four grandchildren, Heather Riffe of North Carolina, Corinna Bayuk of North Carolina, Randy Joe Riffe and his wife Samantha and Savanna Lee all of Transfer; a great grandson Carter Joseph Riffe. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter Lori Lynn Riffe.
