Shirley J. Unger, age 84, formerly of Jamestown, passed away Saturday morning, October 10, 2021 in Avalon Place, New Castle.

She was born in Hartstown on August 17, 1937 a daughter of Clifford S. and Argil (Hollen) Scott. She was a 1955 graduate of Pymatuning Joint Junior Senior High. On May 20, 1961 Shirley married David A. Unger, he passed away October 17, 2015. She was previously employed as a key punch operator at Westinghouse Electric in Sharon. She was a longtime member of Jamestown United Methodist Church and Warm up America. She was a volunteer at the Jamestown Fair, Jamestown food pantry, and St. Paul's Senior Living Community. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and sewing.

She is survived by a son David Unger and his wife Linda of Houston, TX; a daughter, Lisa Rodgers and her husband Don of New Castle; two sisters, Connie Burt and her husband Ralph of Hermitage, Hope Scott of Jamestown; a granddaughter, Allison Benedict and her husband Brian of New Castle; a step-grandson, Andrew Morris and his wife Lissa of Houston, TX; a step-granddaughter, Shelby Williams and her husband Seth of Fort Worth, TX; and four step great grandchildren, Stella Jane Morris, Nette Jo Morris, Anna Jordan Morris, and Holli Joy Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Joan Brocklehurst, a brother Richard Scott, a niece Diann Brocklehurst, and a nephew, Richard Scott.
