Susan A. Ray

Susan A. Ray, age 74, of U. S. Hwy. 322, S. Shenango Twp., Jamestown passed away peacefully with her family at her side Wednesday afternoon, December 11, 2024, in her residence.

She was born in Mercer on May 24, 1950 to Kahle W. and Elma C. (Zahniser) Pears. Susan was a 1968 graduate of Reynolds High School and had been employed for six years at Joy Cone Co. and retired after 32 years of employment from Delphi-Packard, Warren, OH. She enjoyed crocheting, watching Hallmark movies, listening to Elvis, and, most of all, taking care of her family. Susan will be remembered as a giving person to everyone with whom she came in contact.

She is survived by four daughters: Karin Foltz of Mercer; Cheri (Robert) Sabanas of Landsdale, PA; Kelli (Donald Weimert) Ray of Jamestown; and Tammie Ray and her longtime companion, Michael Rowles, of Greenville; a son, Timothy Ray, of Jamestown; two sisters: Jennifer (Delbert) French of Grand Junction, CO and Karen (Kern) Pilgram of Fredonia; two brothers: Joseph (Jean) Allen of Warren, OH and Michael Allen of Greenville; a step-sister, Faith (Don) Scarmuzzi of Warren, OH; two step-brothers: John (Millie) Schellhorn of Youngstown and Doug (Michelle) Schellhorn of Transfer; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her previous husband, Gary E. Ray of Jamestown.

Susan is preceded in death by her father; her step-mother, Shirley Pears; her mother; two step-fathers: Joseph Allen and William Schellhorn; a brother, Cecil Allen; and a step-daughter-in-law, Barbie Ray.

Services: 

Family and friends will be received from 5-7 PM on Monday, 12/16/24, in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St. Jamestown. Inurnment will be Shenango Valley Cemetery.
