Thomas P. Bartholomew, age 80, of Greenville, passed away Friday morning, August 11, 2023 in his home. He was born in Mercer, PA on December 31, 1942 to Paul and Eleanor (Dickson) Bartholomew.

Tom was a 1961 graduate of Mercer High School, received his B.S. Degree in Education from Indiana State Teachers College in 1965 and completed his Masters Degree from West Virginia University. He was employed as a Math Teacher at Greenville High School for thirty-five years, retiring in 2000. While at GHS he had served as a class advisor for multiple classes. In addition, Tom also did income tax preparation for many local residents for many years. He volunteered as a Girls Rec Softball coach in Greenville and as an avid runner, he had ran and completed many marathons with his running mate Terry Cooper. Tom loved hunting and fishing throughout his whole life.

On June 19, 1965, he married the former Judith Nicholson, she passed away on July 4, 2017. He is survived by two daughters; Holly Bartholomew and Amy Johnson (Jarrett), all of Greenville, three grandchildren; Chase Bartholomew, Harper Johnson and Fynnley Johnson, two brothers; Ron Bartholomew (Joan) of Columbia, SC and Dick Bartholomew (Rhonda) of Hermitage, a brother-in-law; Nick Nicholson (Kathy) of Carmel, CA, a sister-in-law; Sue Nicholson of Gans, PA and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice and Seniors Helping Seniors for their care during Tom’s illness.
