Thomas E. Biles

Thomas E. Biles, age 84, of W. Jamestown Rd., Greene Township, Jamestown, formerly of the City of Tonawanda, NY passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, August 17, 2024 in his residence.

He was born on September 21,1939 in North Tonawanda, NY to E. Thomas and Dolores (Rosebrock) Biles. Tom graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1965.

He was employed as a professional firefighter with the City of Tonawanda Fire Department for 27 years and later worked as an event director for the National Street Rod Association for 15 years. 

Tom enjoyed restoring, customizing, and collecting classic cars, meeting his friends for breakfast every morning, and attending his granddaughter Miranda’s softball games. He was a member of the Jamestown Firemen’s Club and a 61-year member of the Niagara Hose Company.

He married the former Lanell Evans on September 22, 1962. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2023.

Tom is survived by a daughter, Sheila Biles and her companion Ronald Smith of Cheektowaga, NY; a son, Thomas L. Biles and his wife Nicki of Hartstown; a sister, Susan English and her husband Thomas of Lutz, FL; and a granddaughter, Miranda Biles.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, PA from 5 – 7 PM on Tuesday, 8/27/24. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tonawanda Firemen’s Benevolent Association, PO Box 154 Tonawanda, NY 14151-0154.
