Thomas L. Groover, age 73, of Westford Rd., Jamestown, passed away Thursday morning, June 17, 2021 in his residence. He was born in Greenville on March 6, 1948 a son of Kenneth and Esther (White) Groover. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was the owner/operator of The Welcome Inn, Jamestown for many years.
On June 12, 1993 Thomas married the former Nyla Fry, she survives. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a life member of Jamestown VFW #5424.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kurt Groover and his wife Deb of Greenville; a daughter, Tommilee Groover and her companion John Redman of Greenville; a step-son, Christopher Zuschlag and his wife Christine of Mercer; a step-daughter, Carrie Garvin of Cortland, OH; siblings, Anna Reimold, Jim Groover and his wife Dian, Dave Groover, Debbie Sok, and Sylvia Karcasky; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Paul Groover.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Jamestown VFW #5424, 205 Liberty St., Jamestown. Inurnment will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville.
