Virginia L. DeLaurentis, age 95, of Greenville passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.
She was born in Greenville on February 22, 1929, to Pietro and Nellie (Morse) DeLaurentis. Virginia was a 1946 graduate of Penn High School and retired after more than 50 years as a business manager for Greenville Motors, having started her career after high school graduation with Stevenson Buick, Dart Chevrolet and Cadillac, Stackhouse Motors, and then Greenville Motors. In her younger years, she helped run the family grocery store at home.
Virginia was a lifelong member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Greenville, where she volunteered in the rectory for over 60 years and taught CCD for 10 years. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling as well as quilting, sewing, and knitting.
She is survived by her sister, Rose M. Stumpff, of Greenville; 13 nieces and nephews; and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, C. Charles DeLaurentis, Angelo DeLaurentis, and Paul M. DeLaurentis; an infant sister, Mary DeLaurentis; a niece, Christina DeLaurentis; and three sisters-in-law: Camilla “Cam” DeLaurentis, Sarah DeLaurentis, and Julie DeLaurentis.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, 11/7/24, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, with Fr. Brandon Kleckner, Pastor of the Church, as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, 11/6/24, from 4-6 PM in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-358 S. Main St. Greenville. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Greenville Railroad Park, 314 Main St. Greenville, PA 16125.
