William James Beighey, age 83, of 5851 Maple Way, Jamestown, PA and formerly of Mt. Lebanon, passed away Tuesday morning, December 24, 2024, in his residence.
He was born February 22, 1941 in Beaver Falls to Paul and Dorothy (Foreman) Beighey. Bill was a graduate of New Brighton High School and earned his B. S. in mathematics at Wake Forest University, where he was a member of the football team, and subsequently completed his M. A. in counseling at Duquesne University. Bill retired from McGuffey High School in Washington County in 2001 following a 30-year career as a Guidance Counselor and previously had taught math and science at Darlington High School.
He was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Scott Twp. and was an avid golfer who loved all outdoor activities.
Bill was the beloved husband of Virginia (Rapp) Beighey whom he married on August 14, 1964; she survives.
He was a cherished and devoted father to his two daughters, Dawn Beighey of Mt. Lebanon and Gretchen Voelker of Pine Twp.; an adored grandad (Gugs) to Matthew, Alabama, Eliza, Nicholas, Annabelle, and Jessica; a dear brother to Carolyn (Ernie) Lengyel of Beaver; and uncle to Chris Lengyel.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents.
Services:
A private Funeral Service will be held in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St. Jamestown, with Chaplain AJ Platt officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.
