William N. “Benny” Benetin, age 80, of Adamsville Rd., Adamsville passed away Wednesday morning, May 25, 2022 in his residence.

He was born in Youngstown, OH on July 31, 1941, a son of Mike and Winona (Williams) Benetin. He was a 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School and served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Loraine from 1959-1962. On October 13, 1962 Bill married the former Norma Jean Cathcart, she survives.

He was previously employed as an electrician at Steel Car, Greenville for 28 years, Trinity Industries for 13 years, and Duferco for 5 years. Bill and his wife Norma co-owned the Sawdust Shop where they made hardwood toys for 37 years and would sell them at craft stores. Their toys are all around the world.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters; Sherry Ann Dygert and her husband David of Atlantic, Tina Marie Dye and her husband Greg of Williamsfield, OH, and Anna Marie Prince and her husband Jim of Cambridge Springs; half brother, Raymond Stockner of Columbus, OH; half sister, Geneva Wilcox of Cochranton; brother-in-law, Don Hagans; sister-in-law, Marlene Toth; five grandchildren, Michael, Mark, and Tyler Dygert, Justin Dye and his wife Sonni, and Shawna Dye; six great grandchildren, Jake, Drew, and Peytra Dygert, Claribel Dygert, Emersyn and Everly Dye and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Brian Scott Benetin, brother Nelson Benetin, sister, Rose Hagans, brother-in-laws Albert Hays, Pat Wilcox, and Kenny Toth; his in-laws Charles and Claribel Cathcart, a special niece and nephew Rochelle and Bert.
