William Stanley Jay Ferguson went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2025. Stanley was born in Red Bush, Kentucky, on October 28, 1931, to Admiral Dewey and Esta (Bolin) Ferguson. Stanley was drafted to serve in the Korean War in 1952. He was honorably discharged in 1953. Soon after he married Eleanor Louise Lenak on February 6, 1954 and together they had five children. They shared over 70 years of marriage.
After the war, Stanley and his brother Loman started Ferguson Brothers retail supply business in North Royalton, OH. After selling the Ferguson Brothers business Stanley and his son, Curt, became business partners at Meadow Lake Campground in Westford, PA.
In 1983 Stanley accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, and his life was changed by his commitment to serve God. Stanley spent his retirement years serving at Harvest Baptist Church. In his final years, Stanley expressed his desire to see all his family accept Jesus.
Stanley is survived by 4 children: Cary Ferguson, Marblehead, OH; Carla Ferguson, Marblehead, OH; Colleen (Kevin) Hoffman, Grafton, OH; and Chad (Rebecca) Ferguson, Jamestown, PA, and a daughter-in-law, Jill Ferguson. Surviving also are 15 Grandchildren, Matt, Dan, Cary, Levi, Jessica, Kendall, Cody, Wyatt, Kevin, Katie, Kayla, Jennylynne, Jacob, Jana, and Jadon; 19 Great-Grandchildren; and one Great-Great Grandchild. Also surviving is his sister Esta (Robert) List of Willow Springs, NC.
Stanley was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleanor, his parents, his son, Curt, a great granddaughter, Colette Piazza, five brothers and sisters.
Services:
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, 2/22/25, in Harvest Baptist Church, 516 E. Jamestown Rd Greenville, with Pastor Jeremy McClain and Pastor Matt Ferguson co-officiating. Family and friends will be received in the church on Friday, 2/21/25, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Saturday, 2/22/25, from 9:30 AM until time of service. Burial with Committal Prayers and Military Honors rendered by Jamestown Honor Guard will be in Espyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Harvest Baptist Church.
