In 1965 he continued his employment for 17 ½ years at Chicago Bridge & Iron Co’, Greenville, until the plant closed in 1982.

In 1966, he and his family opened Walnut Creek Golf Club, which they built on the family farm in S. Shenango Twp.;adding a driving range adjacent to the course. They operated the business for 27 years. Over the years many customers became friends as Bill enjoyed meeting and visiting people.

As a Lion, he was a past member on the Board of Beacon Lodge for 10 years.  He was a member and Past President of the Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.
Prior to moving to S. Shenango Twp., he was a member of the Jamestown Borough Council and served as President. He was also a member of the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies included square dancing, bowling, and of course, golf. Many trips with family and friends were enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and local courses.

His “final” retirement included spending time on the front porch watching golfers and visiting with family and friends. Other hobbies included jigsaw puzzles, watching old westerns and reading.
