OUR HISTORY

A History of Caring

For three generations, the Loutzenhiser Family has been dedicated to providing the highest level of care and compassion to the families of Greenville and the surrounding areas.

In 1930, John R. Loutzenhiser opened Loutzenhiser Home For Funerals located at 340 Main St. Greenville (where the Arby's Restaurant is currently located).

John's son, Jack G. Loutzenhiser, followed in his father's footsteps and became a licensed funeral director in 1964. In 1977, the younger Loutzenhiser and Arthur J. Jordan formed a partnership and built a new funeral facility located at 366-368 S. Main St. The modern facility became the new home of Loutzenhiser-Jordan Colonial Funeral Home and was operated by Jack and Art until the unfortunate passing of Art in 1992 and Jack in 1997.

The funeral home today, Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., continues to grow under the direction of third-generation funeral director and President, Cris H. Loutzenhiser. In March of 2016, Cris expanded the business with the purchase of the Randall Funeral Home in Jamestown which now operates as Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home. Today, Loutzenhiser Funeral Home and Cremation Services is recognized as a leader in providing caring and professional funeral services in northern Mercer and southern Crawford counties.
